Artee Milligan at the Fannie Mae Foundation Help the Homeless Walkathon– candidate for Ward 4 Council MemberArtee Milligan is seeking to occupy the Ward 4 council seat vacated by new Mayor Adrian Fenty. I met Mr. Milligan during his campaign for mayor and was impressed by his drive, energy and sincere desire to serve the community and better the quality of living for all citizens of Washington, D.C. If I were a resident of Ward 4, he would definitely have my vote! Below are list of reasons I think he should be allowed the privilege of serving the citizenry of Ward 4.I would vote for Artee Milligan because………
He is a man of the people. He’s different from the rest of the would-be contenders for the Ward 4 Council seat.
When he left corporate America, he went to work for a grassroots organization – Metropolitan/Delta Adult Literacy Council, Inc. (M/DALC).
In his capacity today at M/DALC, he serves the community that he will represent when he is elected as the next council member from Ward 4.
He does not mind working and will work well with others to develop a plan for safer streets and cleaner neighborhoods.
He understands the systemic problems in Ward 4 – unemployment and the lack of affordable housing, programs for seniors, and economic development.
He has insight others lack. For example, the low performance of the District Public School System is just part of the problem with the City’s educational system. Vocational and technical training and adult preparation must be address if we are to put people to work and create jobs for our youth.I could go on, but Milligan is the only choice as the next Ward 4 Council member.
